Chrysocolla is a greenish-blue mineral comprised of hydrated copper silicate. Typically occurring as opaline crusts and/or masses, the structure of the mineral has been questioned, as studies suggest that the mineral may be a mixture of copper hydroxide spertiniite and chalcedony. The cyan color of Chrysocolla is absolutely stunning, some growths containing bands of white and green. Chrysocolla is associated with minerals such as quartz, limonite, azurite, malachite, cuprite, and other secondary copper minerals. It is most commonly found in Australia, Bolivia, Mexico, Namibia and Russia.
